Trash Collection

Trash will be collected once a week. See Service Schedule tab for collection map to determine the pickup day for your area.

To help protect our employees, we strongly encourage that ALL HOUSEHOLD TRASH BE PLACED IN BAGS inside the CWD-provided grey 95-gallon trash cart.

Additional trash bags can be placed in customer-owned containers or next to the cart, but will be counted toward weekly bulk/brush collection limits.

Place all trash items out no later than 7:00 a.m. for pickup between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on your service days. Please ensure the trash receptacles and the recycle cart are separated by at least three feet, and three feet away from obstacles such as mailboxes, cars, fences, gas meters, and drainage ditches. Please ensure there is a 16-foot clearance above your cart. Position the trash cart with the wheels toward the residence.

Recycling Services

Recycling will be collected once every other week, on your trash collection day. Check the Service Schedule tab to determine whether you are on Route A or on Route B.

All recyclables must be placed inside the blue 95-gallon recycle cart.

Place all recyclable items out no later than 7:00 a.m. for pickup between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on your service day. Please ensure the recycle cart and the trash containers are separated by at least three feet, and three feet away from obstacles such as mailboxes, cars, fences, gas meters, and drainage ditches. Please ensure there is a 16-foot clearance above your cart. Overloaded carts will not be serviced.

Position the recycle cart with the wheels toward the residence.

Recycling Guidelines

Bulky Waste & Brush

Bulk and brush will be collected every week, on your trash collection day.

You are limited to four (4) cubic yards of bulk and loose brush per collection.

Limbs should not be greater than six (6) inches in diameter, should weigh no more than 50 pounds, nor be longer than four (4) feet. All limbs should be placed with trunks parallel to the street without obstructing the sidewalk.

Important! CWD does not provide pickup for commercial demolition, construction, nor remodeling debris. Household debris must be containerized to be eligible for pickup. The box or other disposable container must be no larger than 2′ x 2′ x 4′ and weigh no more than 50 pounds.

Please place all bulk and brush items at your front curb no later than 7:00 a.m. on your trash collection day.

  • Toys and Yard Tools Tagged as “Bulk Item”
  • Furniture
  • Bundled Carpet in 4-Foot Lengths
  • Washing Machines and Dryers
  • Water Heaters (drained)
  • Kitchen Appliances
  • Fence Panels No Larger Than 4′ x 6′
  • Refrigerators/Freezers (must be tagged certifying removal of refrigerant)
  • Additional Trash Bags

Bulk Items – Prohibited

  • Single Items Weighing More than 150 lbs.
  • Commercial Construction and Remodeling Debris
  • Household Hazardous Waste
  • Tires, Batteries, and Propane Tanks
  • Loose Household Debris (Debris must be placed in a box or other disposable container no larger than 2′ x 2′ x 4′ and weighing no more than 50 pounds.)

X-treme Green Event

CWD will host one X-treme Green Event per year in the City of Ovilla.

An X-treme Green Event is a one-stop place to dispose of household hazardous waste, automotive tires, used electronics and household metal goods. Confidential document shredding is also available on site.

CWD provides all Commercial Trash and Recycling Services in the City of Ovilla.

Q     Is it possible to get an additional CWD trash cart?
A     Absolutely! Carts can be provided for an additional monthly fee. Please call Ovilla Utility Billing at 972.617.7262.

Q     How do I get my recycle cart replaced if it is damaged or has normal wear and tear? Does it cost anything?
A     Please call CWD at 972.392.9300/Option 2. There is no cost for a replacement unless the damage was caused by fire.

Q     How do I get a special pickup for extra items or non-compliant items?
A     Call CWD Customer Service at 972.392.9300/Option 2, and request an estimate for a special pickup. Estimates are free.

Q     I have paint, used electronics, and other household hazardous waste. How do I dispose of these things safely?
A     CWD will host one X-treme Green Event per year in the City of Ovilla. During this event, residents are able to dispose of these items easily.
